The iconic Bank Building was gutted by a fire in 2018 and it has been Primark’s ambition to restore and re-open it. It has been a complex redevelopment, spanning 4 years, and finally the doors were open to the public on Tuesday 1st November with the traditional ribbon cutting and our favourite pair of large blue scissors.

The refurbished store is 76% bigger than the previous one, and has a new 5th floor for homewares. There is a Disney café and beauty studio. The store features a birch ply ‘snowflake’ design throughout which was designed, manufactured and installed by Railston. The snowflake can be seen in the perimeter panelling, the cash desk areas and in supersize on the stairwells.
